If you were thinking of giving a gift to help us on our way, a gift of cash towards our honeymoon and future would really make our day, however if you would prefer a gift please feel free to surprise us in your own special way.
After lots of studying and countless games, Nathan asked Germaine to be his girlfriend in Denver. She said yes and the rest is history!
After 6 months, we were ready to take things to the next level and we rented our first apartment together. It was located in the bustling downtown Albuquerque. It was a great location and we would always walk at night where we saw porcupines, racoons and even skunks. The actually apartment wasn’t huge and had a huge hole on the ceiling that would drip water during rain storms but it was home.
Shortly after buying our first car together, we decided to go on a road trip to Colorado. On the way there, we got caught in a crazy hail storm. This put multiple dimples all over the roof and hood of the car. On the bright side our car got the cute nickname 'Dinky'.
Our first flight together was to the magical lands of Florida. We started our journey off right with a red eye flight, leaving at midnight and arriving at 5AM. We went on lots of adventures, including going to Universal Studios and visiting the beach for the first time together.
After our apartment decided to raise our rent (by a whole $25 a month!) we decided to look for a new place. We thought we were wasting our money renting and decided to buy our first home! This was a crazy adventure, every second we were not working we were looking at houses (Our weekends were full 8 hours day of home tours). After months of searching, countless heartbreaks and tears, we finally found our dream house. It had a beautiful yard, a huge kitchen, and most importantly it was in our price range.
Right before the pandemic, we were able to make one last trip to the legendary state of Texas. We visited both San Antonio and Austin. Here we had lots of great food, visited the Alamo, explored the Texas Capitol, and walked the entire San Antonio Riverwalk.
In September, we brought home our first pet, little Bernard. We fell in love at the first sight over a blurry zoom call. After weeks of waiting for him to turn 12 weeks old, he was finally ready to live with us. He was a pandemic pup so he was a little socially awkward, and his heart would fill with anxiety when we left the house (Luckily for him this was a rare event). He quickly became the center of our lives and we even made him an instagram account
After getting Bernard our whole life warped around him. So naturally our first Christmas was full of Bernard pictures.
After a year of not traveling, as soon as we got our vaccines we were super excited to start exploring the world again. We started off with a road trip around New Mexico. We visited Carlsbad Caverns, Ruidoso, and White Sands. We even ate inside our first restaurant since the pandemic, Roswell's one and only UFO shaped McDonalds!
Our second Christmas with Bernard was a lot like the first one, lots and lots of gifts, lots and lots of pictures.
SNOW!!
After laying low for two years, we were finally ready to go to our first comedy show, Jo Koy. During the show we were laughing so hard we could not breathe. Still our favorite comedy show to this day.
Pie for π day. Nathan’s work was having a pie contest, so we baked our butts off! The pie was amazing and Nathan won the contest (It was the only entry but still won!).
In 2022, we discovered one of our new favorite places to visit, the glamorous city of Las Vegas. Here we saw the mysterious Lady Gaga during her Enigma + Jazz & Piano show on Easter.
The first trip we took together outside of the US was to the lush city of Vancouver, Canada. We had lots of amazing food including the best sushi restaurant that we'd ever had, Miku Vancouver (Still have dreams of this sushi to this day). Stanley park was another location that we absolutely loved, we walked most of the island on foot and the days later, explored it again on bike.
Our first trip with Bernard was a weekend journey to the adventurous village of Ruidoso. Unfortunately all the forests were closed due to fire dangers leaving the 3 of us to melt in the cabin.
Las Vegas could not keep us away for long, only after a couple of months later we visited again, this time seeing the bubbly Katy Perry for her Play show.
Hawaii was an amazing place to visit, we had countless adventures here. The most memorable for both of them was when Nathan proposed and Germaine said YES!!
Bernard’s first trip outside of New Mexico was a road trip to the west coast. We had some camping adventures along the way and then stayed in the balmy city of San Diego. We were steps away from the dog beach, so we made sure to go there every single day! Bernard loved every second of it! (Except for when we placed him in the water).
2022 was the first year we made Christmas cards! Well we planned on it at least, only managed to send out digital cards. 2023 will be the year of the physical card, mark our words!
The most recent trip we had was to San Francisco where we had great food (our first Michelin star restaurant). We explored the interactive Exploratorium. We toured the mysterious Winchester Mansion with Germaine’s Aunt and Uncle!
